You Can't Go Back

Man walking through tunnel with match
“This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” - Morpheus

Jesus called each disciple to come and follow him. When they chose to follow him they were essentially taking the red pill because life for them changed drastically. They could not go back to their old lives because they had seen too much, they saw a reality that was far beyond anything they had known.

It seems that some who claim to be Christian wish to continue to believe whatever they want to believe when Jesus has called them to follow him. They do not want to be disconnected from the comfortable yet want to know what else is out there for them. There is the act of going forward and following Jesus and like the red pill we become unplugged from the system and there is no going back. This is the following. The moment where we have taken the leap of faith and everything changes. We can only go forward to see what Jesus has forthcoming.
