Illustrated Faith: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Illustrated Faith: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

I want to share with you something I recently stumbled upon. I started a new one year bible reading plan and wanted to take a scripture that stood out to me and make it into a quote image I could place on Instagram. I added the hashtag #biblereading and then searched to see what else was out there.

What I found was a new way for creative people to journal their bible reading. It's called "Illustrated Faith" and it comes in many forms. Some people write a scripture in the margins using calligraphy others will sketch an image that illustrates the story and some will even incorporate paint or stickers to bring the pages to life.

Personally, I do not have artistic abilities (sans Photoshop anyway) but I was inspired by what others created. It's another way to engage with the Bible and journal what God is speaking to you through the scriptures.

Here is a video I found with more information on Illustrated Faith and a few examples. What do you think? Is there another way you interact with the scriptures that is more "hands on" than just reading alone? Leave a comment below.
