This Week's Empty Conversation: Morality and the Substitute
Why do we act the way that we do? Is it because we are trying to get a reaction from someone else or is it because we are trying to avoid a reaction from someone else. Probably a little bit of both. The Bible is often referred to as a book on moral and ethical codes that humans must follow in order to get or avoid the type of reactions we expect from others. But if this was all it was, then why would it center around the substitutionary death of Jesus? You can check it out on SoundCloud Here.
Blog Round Up: Go, Control, Substitute, Whores.
This week we have a broad range of blogs since the conversation hit a broad range of topics. Sean discusses how Jesus calls us to leave our sins behind because He enables us to change. Josh says that everyone is a whore because we have prostituted ourselves out to other things, forsaking God. Kristal questions why she needs Jesus as her substitute if Christians themselves do not live as if He is their own. Sarah discusses the differences between self-control and controlling yourself.
