The Talk Faith recap gathers the week's best from the Empty Church crew and gives you the resources to talk about your faith with your friends and family. If you missed anything  or are looking for a great link to send to a friend to introduce them to Empty Church this is the one you want to send!

This Week's Empty Conversation

Calling all Christians! Fight the Evil Government in the name of Jesus! The call continues to go out, but is that call even Biblical? Does it ignore the admonitions of the church fathers? If we are going to find out what it means to be a Christian then we better figure if a Christian is supposed to submit to authority or rebel against it. That tall task is the focus of this episode of Another Empty Conversation. Blog Roundup: Submission, Rebellion, and the Government

It is a heated political season and the Christian finds herself in a big predicament. How do you deal with a government you don't agree with? Josh explores the answer of living like a rebellious Christian. Sean asks and tries to answer the question, was Jesus really a rebel? Finally, why should we submit to authority? Sarah questions if some laws are made to be broken.

Special Edition:

In a heart-felt confessional, Josh explains why he and his attitudes are what is really wrong with the church. Here is an excerpt:

As a pastor, my responsibility is to point people towards Jesus, equip others to point people to Jesus, and to speak the truth of the Scriptures with my words and actions. These are my secondary responsibilities....that I have made primary responsibilities.

As a member of the laity, my responsibility is to listen, learn, serve, teach, and obey what God tells me to do. I am to talk about Jesus and work in the kingdom of God. These are my secondary responsibilities... that I have made primary responsibilities.

When I prioritize my function in the kingdom of God based solely on what I do I tend to forget the reason why I do it in the first place.
