This Week's Podcast: Old Words Bring Life
Your Life and the Bible
I really wanted to write a blog on the Bible (and who know what this blog will turn into once I start writing) but I don't feel like I have anything new to say. We can talk about how the Bible is accurate, reliable, and trust worthy but that doesn't make anyone trust it.
Today we end the bones of our belief series where most people start: the Bible.
And I didn't know where to start. We preach every week from the Bible as the basis of our faith. We believe that since the Bible claims that it is from God that it has authority. It’s a circular argument: the Bible is true because God says that it’s true within the Bible. The Bible is authoritative because it claims to be from God. I have faith that this is true and it doesn't hurt that the Bible has a pretty good track record in its translation and historically.
Throughout our series "Bones of our Beliefs" we're discussing what we believe and why we believe it. As a parent, I believe it's important to also explain what you believe and why to your children. This week we talk about the Bible and how it is the inspired Word of God.
