The Bones Of Our Beliefs

The Bones Of Our Beliefs

You cannot act in a way that is consistent with your belief unless you know the consistency of your beliefs. The journey from the head to the heart, that is the intellectual agreement with information to the personal acceptance and application of information, is a long and often misunderstood process. This is true for you and for your church.

This is the skeleton that forms the foundation of Empty Church's belief system. Everything we do is held together by these principles.

The Bones of Our Belief

  1. There is one God who created and sustains everything.

  2. Jesus, the only Son of God, was fully God and Fully Man. He willingly died and was resurrected to restore the broken relationship between God and people. He is coming back to earth again to reunite his family.

  3. The Holy Spirit empowers willing  believers to share the story of redemption and salvation with people who do not believe. He is the believer’s source of comfort, conviction, counsel, and direction.

  4. People are naturally rebellious toward the God who unfathomably loves them. Only through belief in Jesus and repentance of their rebellion can they join in the big family reunion after Jesus returns to earth. Until then, our ultimate pleasure is to worship and enjoy God.

  5. The Bible is God’s word and it is the recounting of the history of people’s origin, their rebellion against God, their interactions with God over time, the unfolding story of redemption, instructions on how to live together on earth, and a peek into the future when all believers are reunited with God in heaven.

We acknowledge that people read the Bible in different ways and come to different conclusions as to what it means. We will always strive to follow what it says not necessarily what we want it to say.
