#ec1dot11 - The Jesus Gym: Building Bible Biceps
On This Episode:
Thee begat thou and thine bestoweth thee…and pretty soon your eyes get sleepy. Reading the Bible is an essential part of exploring and strengthening your faith.
But, lets be real, it can become a chore and often times the benefits are not immediately seen. Just like diets and exercise, it can be hard to get going and stay motivated to read the Bible. We discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly and the beauty of meeting God in the Scripture. As attend the Jesus Gym in this episode of Another Empty Conversation.
The Bible is a large and looming story that gives a peek into the history of the Divine and Humanity. It is a glorious story that can seem unapproachable.
The method to reading your Bible needs to be tailored to you, it needs to fit your personality. But make no mistake about, it is a discipline. It takes effort and accountability. Don’t expect to jump into marathon sessions before you’ve barely learned to crawl. But when you inevitably hit the wall, find a way to push through to the other side.
I guarantee that the Bible will become more alive.
We are dedicating the month of January to toning our spiritual muscles and getting prepared for all that 2016 has to offer.
Today’s conversation deals with the benefits of reading your consistently reading your Bible. We also discuss why it is so hard and the distractions that we personally face when we try to get into this habit.
