#ec1dot20 - Uneasy on a Sunday Morning
On this episode
We asked our followers, “what makes it hard to go to church on Sunday?"
Some of the answers we expected, others, not so much...
We sit down, drink coffee, and talk about church episode of Another Empty Conversation
When talking about why you don’t like going to church it is easy to start pointing fingers and becoming very selfish. The Church is God’s people moving forward through eternity. It changes, shifts, and morphs - sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse
It is important to remember that no individual church or individual in the church is perfect - so finding the perfect church will never happen. Still, there is nothing more beautiful than when rescued people come together to re-tell the stories of the One who rescued them. That is what church is really all about.
The time has arrived for Another Empty Conversation - a show that lets you eavesdrop on a conversation about faith and following Jesus. We talk about our faith so you can talk about yours.
We at Empty Church want you to feel comfortable talking about faith and following Jesus wherever conversations happen. Often times we ourselves gather behind closed doors to record these conversations. It convenient and most of all it is quiet.
Well, that is not the case for today’s episode. We decided to hit up our local coffee shop and drink dark roast and talk about church. The sound of life is in the background. Music plays, blenders blend, and baristas call out complicated drink names. As all this goes on, we talk about our faith.
This is an experiment for us and we would love to hear your thoughts on the live recording. What worked or what didn’t. You can leave comments on SoundCloud, on the blog, or on social media channels like Facebook or Twitter. If you want something a little more private you can always email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We think it is wise to use feedback from you to make this the best show it can be.
Speaking of wisdom, the book of Proverbs in the Bible is full of wisdom.
It is also full of Foolish Things - which is a great segway into announcing our next series that start on March 28, 2016.
Foolish things are what happens when wisdom is ignored. Over the course of 5 weeks we are going to talk about some of the foolish things that we do that God absolutely hates and how we can avoid falling into foolish things.
