#ec1dot25 - Innocent Blood that is not so Innocent
On this Episode:
God hates foolish people who shed innocent blood. That is a black and white statement. People are good at creating gray areas to justify actions. Are those gray areas still foolish?
I guess we had better find out - on this week’s episode of Another Empty Conversation.
Nobody thinks it fine to kill innocent people - it's just that people often have differing perspectives on the idea of innocence. Our world is a sinful place, and in the eyes of God none of us our innocent, but we are all loved.
Loved enough that God himself suffered injustice that we may have life, forgiveness, and peace.
The time has arrived for Another Empty Conversation - a show that lets you eavesdrop on a conversation about faith and following Jesus. We talk about our faith so you can talk about yours.
Welcome to Empty Conversation episode #1dot25
Good discussions tend to go down many rabbit trails - sometimes you make your way back to the main topic and sometimes the new trail needs to be explored further.
Well, that is what happened to the EC crew. We started talking about the Foolish Thing of shedding innocent blood and some tangents were taken. After some time wrestling with the definition of innocent We talk about being "in or out” when it comes to religion and how what that means under the social context of equality. We also re-visit the idea of a God who tells his people to do one thing and then does another.
There are many on-ramps to jump into this conversation. It is the perfect week for you to let us know your thoughts. Comments are welcome and encouraged on Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, and on our website - www.empty.church. Log in and let us know what you thinK and how you feel.
We are humbled that you have joined us and are excited to get started. So let's do it.
