#ec1dot50 - A Conversation Between Church and State: Free Money
Welfare, Veteran benefits, education, government sponsored healthcare - someone has to pay for it but these benefits are always seen as free.
But where do we draw the line between who gets the government check and who does not?
What makes you worthy of receiving other people’s money?
It's another hot topic taken on by the EC crew in this episode of Another Empty Conversation
The time has arrived for Another Empty Conversation - a show that lets you eavesdrop on a conversation about faith and following Jesus. We talk about our faith so you can talk about yours.
I welcome you to Empty Conversation episode 1dot50 - our 50th show
It is quite awesome that you are here and that you have invited us to talk about some tough topics.
All through this series - A Conversation between Church and State - we have taken the task to talk about political topics in a way that makes sense to us. We are trying to decide how we should vote in the upcoming US presidential election and we are evaluating the candidates based on what we believe is right.
But while politics are the center of the conversation - it is our faith in Jesus that is being refined and thought through. Each time we talk about politics we are recognizing the clash of politics and the Christian faith. How do we reconcile the teachings of Jesus with how our government operates.
In some ways, we are learning more about the practical implications of our faith than when we simply discuss theology. When we are discussing politics and our faith we are trying to answer Schaeffer’s grand question: How should we then live?
To join in helping us answer this question please leave us comments on SoundCloud or on our blog at www.empty.church. You can also feel free to email us at email@example.com and we will gladly respond.
Before we get to today’s conversation I want to take a moment to thank every single listener to our humble show. As we approach our one-year anniversary we want you to know that we appreciate every email, comment, and follow that you have given to us here at Empty Church. We truly appreciate you.
SO without any further adieu, let's get right to it.
Now its time to leave you a preview so you too can review what we do as we jump into Another Empty Conversation
