#ec1dot38 - Special Guest Interview: Todd Mallery on Spiritual Mentors
SPURGEON said, There are no solos in heaven only a choir singing Gods praises.
But here on earth, Christians are taught spiritual disciplines that often leave them to themselves in solitude. Reading, prayer, study, and confession are individual pursuits. What we do in heaven is together. What we do here on earth is alone.
But I can tell you that the most valuable aspects of my Christian life have been the relationship between me and my spiritual mentors. The spiritual disciplines usually prescribed for solitude - when done together with a mentor made a significant impact on my life.
This week we are looking at identifying and working with a spiritual mentor and on this week's show, we are going to sit down and chat with one of my mentors. He is a teacher at Sherwood Christian Academy and an active member of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany GA. He has been a mentor for youth and adults and he is here to talk with us today about this idea of spiritual mentoring.
We welcome my good friend Todd Mallery to our show today.
Some of the questions we discuss are:
- What is a spiritual mentor?
- What are the qualifications of a good spiritual mentor?
- Why should you have a spiritual mentor?
- Why should you consider being a spiritual member?
